This charming café is located inside a beautifully preserved building in the former Kobe Foreign Settlement, which is designated as an Important Cultural Property. The entire first floor is a shop where you can buy tea and baked goods, while the café is on the second floor. Both the exterior and interior have a historical charm that’s absolutely lovely. Came across this branch of Patisserie Tooth Tooth by accident while wandering around Kobe! It doesn’t even appear on its own on Google Maps.

They accepted our walk-in for a late tea and dessert. Cakes and tea were good, but what makes this stand out is definitely the old historic building this restaurant is located in, giving the place a unique ambience and makes you feel like you’ve transported back in time.

I miss Tooth Tooth.

This place used to be THE best restaurant in Japan. I used to fly from Tokyo to Kobe, only to visit this very place.

Now there is no scent of fine dining. Dishes are delivered at a lightning pace. Afternoon tea tables are right next to you while you are having dinner course.

To be fair making good money out of fine dining is a challenge. But I miss Tooth Tooth very much. Dishes I have in my photo app, and chats I had here about how good they are, I miss...
