Wakaya — Restaurant in Kudoyama

Great local izakaya. We stayed at the michi no eki and this was the closest izakaya. Very local but despite us not speaking much Japanese and the owner not speaking much English it was a great night! We got to try lots of different local dishes we never would have tried otherwise and I even sung karaoke in Japanese (and I never ever sing it even in English, that’s how welcoming they were!)

After having a dip in the local sento and finding a spot at the michi no eki nearby, we decided to head to this local izakaya. As mentioned in the other reviews, this shop is run by the loveley Nanaka. By using Google translate and some patience we had a great night with local encounters, beers, good food and karaoke. We ate pork hotpot, fried chicken and gyza, all homemade in front of us. A must visit when...
