Not only every dish was delicious and perfectly crafted but also every single ingredient was of the highest quality.

The wine pairing is phenomenal, I'm not a drinker and I was given a fantastic non alcoholic dry sparkling that elevated the flavor of every bite.

The chef and the maitre kindly explain to you the details of every dish. And they are both lovely people which you can tell have a genuine love and passion for their craft and that clearly transpired in the whole experience.

Can't recommed this place enough. I will definitely visit Akarenga when I go back...

This intimate French restaurant in downtown Kumamoto is very special. It is run by a charming couple. Many of the ingredients are locally sourced and then paired exquisitely with complex French sauces and impeccable Japanese presentation. The price is also very very reasonable. This was my third visit - it has become a ritual whenever we go to Kumamoto and the quality is consistently excellent. The wines they included in the matching option were also very good and again...
