Great location. That’s about it.
The room is clean just like everywhere in Japan, so it’s nothing to brag about. Bathroom and toilet are spacious enough even by American standards. Besides the bath/toilet area, the room has a raised bunk bed style setup, top has two twin sized beds and bottom has futon that’s big enough to be a second double bed which can be a sitting area to watch TV. However, both are not good for sleeping. We had to constantly hunched down avoiding hit our heads on the beams, or crawled in and out of the bed and be very careful not to fall down the stairs….its risky just going to the toilet in the dark.
Also, the room door opens outwards to the hallway because there is simply not enough room. If you are under 5’3 or 160 cm in height, or you only going to stay one or two nights, it’s manageable. See the photos for yourself. Even the management placed a “Watch Your Head” sign in the room. Also, the red arrow indicates the added soft bumper to the spot where people often hit their heads. Read moreRoom type:Yagura B (family of 4) July 19-20 1)😊 The room is spacious and bright with a big window reaching upto ceiling. Although it is bunker bed, nothing makes you feel opressed. When you sit up from sofa under the bunker, you would not bump your head. 2)😊 We enjoyed the Kumamon Show very much. It presents at 5:30pm for 30mins every Friday. It is much much funny and lovely. 3)😊 The location is convenient. Nearby parking is close just in 3 mins walk distance. We chose this carpark Times :ポスパーク熊本オークス通り. Ground floor is covered and easy to load/unload baggages. Do not park on upper floor as elevator not available. 4)😊 Must try flour+water HAB@ on ground floor - One Hundred Bread 5)☹️ I talked to the staff over phone asking for chopsticks that night. A staff came to our room but did not bring the stuff for us. I explained to him again what I need. He tried to tell me he would get them from cafe, I though. He then left but did not return. No supper no cup...
Read moreWe stayed at OMO5 Kumamoto by Hoshino Resorts for three nights in October and found it to be a convenient and enjoyable base for exploring Kumamoto. The hotel’s central location made it easy to access nearby shopping malls and restaurants, adding to the convenience of our stay.
One thing to note is that the parking lot is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, which can be challenging if you’re carrying luggage. However, this was a minor inconvenience considering the hotel’s many benefits.
The self-laundry facilities on the reception floor were a big help, especially during our 3-week trip in Japan. This added practicality for a long stay.
Another unique touch was the nightly live music organized by the hotel. I attended one of the performances while my son was already asleep, and it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience that added to the ambiance...
