Guzu Guzu Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Kutchan

You cannot fail to be impressed by the people and the food at cafe Guzu Guzu. They hand make all their bread and desserts and I honestly cannot remember the last time I ate at a better bakery. All I could think while eating their bacon and mushroom pizza was that they have no right making pizza as food as that, outside of Italy! The French toast will wipe the floor with any other french toast you have ever eaten. The quality of this food is unreal. We ate as much as we could from this place before we left Niseko and everything was great. The chocolate danish. The cream bread. The cinnamon rolls. The Dutch baby pancakes. The toasted chicken and cheese baguette. The pizza. The French toast. All staggeringly tasty. Not to mention the lemonade soda too. These guys are on the brink of being discovered by a millionaire investor I am sure. You can’t be that good and just exist in that little bakery forever. Do not miss the opportunity...

Fabulous little bakery off the highway just outside the main area in Hirafu. Opposite the 7/11 at the Intersection to Kutchan.

Has a variety of bread. . baguettes, rye, whole-wheat and lovely danishes & tarts. No sourdough though. Surprise to see them serving lunch as well.

We have tried to go a number of times during supposedly opening hours but it’s been closed. We can only guess it’s because they have sold out of everything! Today we managed to go when they were open.

The blueberry danish is filled with a creamy pastry cream, blueberries and a drizzle of white chocolate. Bought rye bread, coffee & nut danish & apple tart as well. All Delish!!

A fairly unassuming building from the outside hides a very cosy bakery that also somedays does lunch. Seems the lunch options are mostly midweek so we went back two days in a row.

The chicken lunch special with a drink was heaps of delicious food and good value and the apple cinnamon Dutch baby the second day was also amazing. Also got a tasty baguette sandwich (with the proper crispy texture that's hard to find outside of France) and some other treats to take away. Also the iced black coffee in the chilled mug was great.

The staff were super friendly and kind and all the food was delicious. Can't recommend...
