HITO by TACUBO ヒトバイタクボ — Restaurant in Kutchan

Dinner was awful! I would have had a better experience in a simple restaurant in Kutchan! I ordered the seafood pasta and it was too salty. My husband had the porcetta. And it was just a lump of fat! It didn’t come with any sides, which the waitress failed to inform him of. The service was appalling! We were still working on our appetizer when the lump of fat was delivered. The rest of us had to rush through our appetizer because we thought the rest of the mains were soon to be delivered but actually they came 5 minutes later by which time the lump of fat had become disgustingly solid! Then they got one out of the 4 mains order wrong, which they graciously took out of the bill and replaced. The cheesecake was a cold dense block but the matcha tiramisu was not bad. The espresso came as a ristretto but in a cold cup which made it cold by the time it arrived at the table. Seriously!! We had the chef’s set and kid set for dinner. Kid set is terrible like street food and small portion with 5000yen each. Chef’s set is ok but our beef sirloin was very rare - not medium rare, so we have to ask them to redo it.

The service is attentive but maybe too much on pushing you to have more drinks.

The atmosphere is ok but even for Valentine’s Day, it only has a few tables with people so not that vibe.

For the price point of 55000 for four people (two adults and two kids), we highly not recommend this place because it doesn’t justify its positioning with the food at this price.

This place is very new and it's obvious that it needs to find its place. They provide a private dining room and a private wait person assigned to the room to cater to your needs. The wait staff is very well informed. The service and atmosphere were perfect. The food needs to be better! Quite average tasting dishes.
