There are numerous authentic Japanese restaurants dotted around Kutchan town, but randomly coming across this ramen joint was perhaps a truly unexpected surprise and pleasure. Watching what I can only guess to be the matriarch of the family, personally preparing each bowl of ramen, and seeing the entire family working together to serve up what is possibly one of the most delicious bowls of super spicy miso soup ramen I have ever eaten, with 5 soft and chunky slices of freshly boiled pork slices (I saw Grandma pulling out of the pot in the kitchen a freshly boiled slab of pork!)
