Nihonbashi — Restaurant in Kutchan

Traditional style seating on zashiki (tatami mat and low table) with individual rooms for groups. Very generous portions of sushi and tempura - tempura prawns were the biggest I have ever had and were sweet and delicious. Great traditional vibe; really enjoyed dinner here. Separate rooms are good for families with small kids. Managed to ring up and make a reservation earlier in the day in English - (please don’t judge me; I forgot all my Japanese during the three years away in Covid). Staff member tried hard to understand me and we got there in the end which was greatly appreciated....

Nihonbashi is at Kutchan town, which is about 10-15 minutes drive from Hirafu. The Japanese fare served at this restaurant – especially their chirashi don was amazing. Definitely one of the best meals I have had at Niseko!

The restaurant is a few blocks away from Kutchan train station so it’s best to pay this restaurant a visit if you have your own...

Reasonably priced. Service is pretty lack lustre, not very warm or welcoming. Food portions are good and it's tasty. Not blow your socks off but the sushi is fresh and for the price it's good value.
