A great little neighborhood mom and pop restaurant. Super friendly with very homey and comforting food. No English menu and that staff only speaks japanese but don't let that intimidate you. I got by with Google translating the menu and looking at pictures on the wall. Most visitors seem to just walk by it. If you're going to stay in this neighborhood, you should support some of the local restaurants too. I had the curry udon and gyoza. Both wonderful.

I returned again for the final time during my visit in Kyoto. The master and staff were lovely as always and the food is as warm and as loving as the chef and staff. Until my next visit to Kyoto again! I will miss this place greatly for now.

I returned again for the final time during my visit in Kyoto. The master and staff were lovely as always and the food is as warm and as loving as the chef and staff. Until my next visit to Kyoto again! I will miss this place greatly for now.

Went here after a recommendation from the person we were renting from. A wonderful woman was running the shop. There wasn't an english menu but there were three set meals on the wall with pictures. We pointed to one and she made the ramen and chicken fresh there. Fantastic price for...

The chashu men here has been my favorite dish during my stay in Japan. I also recommend the gyoza, very delicious. The woman and her son runing the shop were very, very nice. Talking with them was a highlight of my visit to Kyoto....
