I have tried a few of their loaves and pastries, and they are consistently fresh, well-baked, and truly delicious. The quality of the ingredients and the craftmanship are evident in every bite. 昔、２年ほど岩倉に住んでいたときに、お世話になったパン屋さん。ここから朝にパンを買って岩倉駅や国際会館駅のベンチで食べたり、昼ごはんにしたりしていた。こぢんまりとしたお店だが、甘いパン、ハード系のパン、サンドイッチとバランス良くパンを取り揃えている。

当時、ツインテールがよく似合う20代前半のベッピンさんがバイトしていた。

このベッピンさん目当てで通っていた。 ひそかに。

普段買わないバケットとか買ったりしてよく思われようとした。 あからさまに。

うまいこと仲良くなりたいと思っていた。 むしろこれみよがしに。

あるときその女性のお腹がぽっこりしていて、妊娠中であることに気が付いた。よくできたお嬢さんで、食品を触ることから左手の薬指の指輪を外していたらしい。で僕は結婚どころか彼氏もいないものと思っていた。当時、若い女性は彼氏からもらった指輪を左手の薬指にするのがデフォルトだった。

ええ～結婚してはったんですか。 つかご懐妊ですやん。 なんで結婚とかしますのん。 しかもご懐妊って、、、。 もーﾌｹﾂｯ! ばかぁ！ 好きだったのに！

って心の中で思いながらバケットをもらって下宿まで立ちコギで帰った覚えがある。で僕の淡い恋は終わった。実は何も始まっていなかったけど。

何かのレビューサイトに、米国で知り合った方同士がこのパン屋さんを知っていた（たぶんどっちも同志社高校だったんじゃね）という話があった。なんかしんみりした。

最近、久しぶりに伺った。土曜日の午前中だった。家族連れがブランチを買い求めていた。「おかさんはサンドイッチ。僕はクリームのパン。おとさんはカレーパンが好きなんだよね」的な。

少し遅く起き、近所のパン屋さんのパンでブランチをする。パン食を好み近所に朝早くからやっているパン屋さんがある京都の人々の休日の過ごし方らしい。そんな京都の日常に触れた気がした。これか、と。京都人の密やかな楽しみ的な。

Lovely bakery selling amazing loaves of fluffy white bread. I wasn’t that impressed with the smaller bakes, but I think this is more style than quality. It’s an old school European-style bakery and in that, it does exactly you would expect. I’ll definite come back here...
