After over 150 fantastic reviews of experiences with him, and seeing the online portfolio, I was astonished by the low quality images and poor service we received in our experience. (I’m still trying to understand how he’s managed to accrue so many wonderful reviews). 90% of our pictures were squinting and over half had my husband and I looking in different directions. The edited pictures came back where my face was overly edited and nothing was done to my husband’s. We asked Sanbao to fix them, and he denied there being any issues, refused to re-edit them, completely unraveled in insanity, and ghosted me and the site staff trying to help resolve things. We are quite shocked at how unprofessional he has been, and are upset that we don’t have consistent/uniformly edited pictures. What a pity that our fun kimono family photos aren’t usable. They aren’t even professional, it’s just “travel souvenir snapshot” style pictures. Sanbao even said in a message that he offers a “cheap travel shoot ”. So this whole thing has felt like a scam. Hired Sanbao sight unseen without even a call because of how much I loved his photography style and editing. It’s so difficult to find someone who’s able to do both so well! I’ve never been to Japan before so even going, let alone planning a surprise engagement shoot was scary! Speaking with Sanbao was so helpful. He planned the engagement area, did AMAZING with the surprise and guided us to the location secretly. Was spot on with timing, and SO good with bringing us to other areas for shoot and props. Honestly the best experience we had in Japan, and he really did such an amazing job with the surprise proposal. We loved working with him so much! Sanbao was a pleasure to deal with. I found him from some online research and communicated with him a month before the date. Sanbao was very responsive and clear with his responses. He referred us to a shop that did my hair and makeup. I was overall happy with the referral.

Sanbao knew which areas to shoot pictures and has a good eye for backgrounds and poses. Some poses might be a bit cheesy but you can also guide the process and give feedback of what you would like. The quality of the pictures came back amazing.
