Foreign tourist here. We stambled upon this coffee shop on our way to Tofukuji Temple from Fushimi Inari Taisha last Apr 4, 2023. The coffee shop has a nice old japanese house interior and garden. It is really relaxing place to rest from long walk. The shop owner doesn't speak english but we manage to understand each other. The toilet is 6/5 rating. We ordered the coffee set (with matcha cake) and matcha ice cream. The coffee was good. The matcha cake has sweet red beans; it is dense, melts-in-your-mouth, and a bit sweet taste which goes well with the coffee. Read moreTruly an excellent little reprieve after hiking up to the top of Mt Inari. We spotted a sign for beer and art therapy on our way to Tofuku-Ji, and decided on a lark to give the place a try.
It has the feel of a traditional Japanese house adapted to host small groups. I don't think we'd have been allowed to walk in the small garden, but the view was neat. Limited selection of food and drink, but I thought it was fine. ¥1000 for a large bottle of Kirin Classic feels a little high, but I've definitely often spent as much at restaurants back home in the States.
