Ichizenya — Restaurant in Kyoto

We went early and had the place to ourselves. The place is beautifully designed just begging for people to come in, relax, and have a wonderful time. The whipped cream was very fresh as it is made first thing every morning. The Chou Crèmes crust is fresh and crispy as it was made fresh as well. All of their fresh delights look so delicious, it’s just so hard to choose. We chose two hoping to try different cakes on our next visit. It was so nice that the staff was so accommodating and friendly. Not too friendly that, but just enough information and gave my wife and I time and space to enjoy our time together. They are serious about their teas as they serve Mlesna Tea and TWG; some of the most well regarded tea makers in world. The coffee I had was also amazing and most like extremely well researched and thought out. If they spend this amount of time for coffee and tea; I can only assume that they just as much on each and every ingredient in their cakes and desserts. Just two doors down, you can see the chefs in action as they their are making pastries in an spotless kitchen. On a finishing note, I purchase a few pieces of their dried persimmon, walnuts, fig, millefeuille for a friend. It needs to be kept cool and their provide ice packs to keep them cool. I spent the entire day in Kyoto and they kept cool and the pack was not too big or heavy to carry around. I highly recommend Ichizenya and I very much look forward to dining...
