Omonosato — Restaurant in Kyoto

After visiting the Imperial Palace, we were starving and my brother randomly discovered this resto nearby. . I got Hamburg Steak and Fried Chicken Rice Set. The hamburg steak was savoury and firm, while the chicken was crispy and well-seasoned. The portion was huge, making them great food to enjoy with rice.

My bro got Fried Chicken Rice Set. His fried chicken was served with generous portion as well, and he appreciated that the chicken was not greasy at all. It was very meaty and smelled aromatic.

My sis got Sashimi Rice Set. She thought the sashimi was fresh and evenly sliced. She esp appreciated the tuna becoz of its fatness.

My dad got Tempura Rice Set, while my mom had Chicken Udon Set. For the rice set, it had a sunny-side-up egg yolk on top of the rice. The shrimp tempura was crunchy. Not sure abt the Chicken Udon though coz I didn't try it. . The staff arranged us to sit on the tatami, so we had a typical Japanese dining experience. Came here for dinner while in the area with a friend. It was packed with locals but we were lucky to get a seat by the entrance. The staff were super accommodating and friendly despite the restaurant being so busy.

The food was affordable and tasty. I really enjoyed the shrimp tempura. It was perfectly fried and didn’t taste oily. The portion size was generous for the price. I was satisfied by the end.
