aito was an excellent place to get a late night, quality bowl of ramen. i got the Chintan Ramen set, which came with a clear pork broth ramen, a bowl of rice and 2 pieces of fried chicken. the ramen was very tasty, with nice firm noodles, a flavorful broth and a nice tender slice of pork. the chicken was super juicy and crunchy. not only was i very pleased with the taste of all the food, but it ended up costing a budget-friendly 990 yen.
being a short walk from the Imadegawa stop of the Karasuma line, it was in a very convenient location. and with many local restaurants closing as early as 8pm, it's 11pm closing time was a godsend. the English menu and well labeled ticket machine made things easy for a bunch of tourists. best of all, the staff was super friendly and welcoming.

Read moreI was looking in afternoon for some good ramen, and manu restaurants had a break. Then I spotted Aito 麺屋愛都 今出川店, which turned out to be an excellent ramen shop! I tried the Chinese BBQ pork ramen (from their English menu), and it was absolutely fantastic. Ordering is easy at the machine (tip: insert money first, then choose your meal 😄).
Overall, this place is a great find! If you’re in the area and looking for tasty ramen, definitely...

I did a lot of researches what to eat in Japan, but I found this ramen place just from googling up while we happened to be around the area. Guess this is what’s called a hidden gem! Their fried chicken is a must try as well. Highly recommended! I would go back to Kyoto next year just to eat at this ramen...
