S Taj Mahal Everest Shimogamo — Restaurant in Kyoto

Recently discovered this restaurant and it is AMAZING! For lunch you can get set meals for around 990¥, for example I got chicken curry, naan bread, rice, a drink and a chicken tikka for that price, and it’s a really good, large naan bread!

We recently visited again for dinner, and this time I got the student deal for around 1200¥, which came with a bigger portion of curry, drink, salad and naan bread, however I asked to switch the salad for rice and the owner kindly did so. My friends had a curry with naan bread and a drink, which comes with another free naan bread on request!

The owner is lovely, friendly and welcoming, definitely visit if you want some of the best value Indian...

If you're looking for a great restaurant for Indian food that is run by Nepalese people that also has a poster of Shahid Kapoor, you have found the place. We have it on good authority that lunch is cheaper than dinner here. Which doesn't mean you don't get enough food. They have a wide variety of lunch sets that you can choose from, in which you also choose your curry and beverage. All of the sets provide a LOT of food, so show up with a wild appetite and it will be tamed.
