ヴァンルージュ — Restaurant in Matsumoto

It is an amazing place to go with your partner or with your friends to have a great meal! The course begins with a delicious Consomé soup, along with bread and butter (don't miss it! Worth every bite) and a salad with an amazing seasoning. We then received the main dish. Since we asked for the meat course they delivered us a big plate with high quality meat (maybe fillet mignon), vegetables and a sauce that blended very well. No way I could find in Japan a meat without the fatness that the regular restaurants offers! It is pure meat for a reasonable price. And there is always room for sweets: the desert was interesting and rich! Three kind of sweets to end it up in a happy way! On the day that we went for lunch there was jelly, bread pudding and an especial yuzu sorbet (sherbet maybe). For sure it comes with a drink chosen prior by the beginning. In our case, coffee with milk.

Some points: Despite the fact we barely speak Japanese, everything went well, but it is highly recommended to know the basics cause communication can be hard.

I suggest you to give it a try because this kind of food it is hard to find here in Matsumoto. High quality food, good customer service and calm ambiance.

I enjoyed lunch at Van Rouge, a hidden gem in Matsumoto. This is a long-established French restaurant in Matsumoto, and the casual interior is filled with a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were smiling and courteous, and I received a pleasant service. The food was authentic French cuisine, with a simple seasoning that brought out the taste of the ingredients. The price was very reasonable for the content, and I felt it was a good value for money. Especially impressive was the consomme with seaweed. The aroma of seaweed enhanced the flavor of the consomme, giving it depth and richness. I didn't know there was such a nice restaurant in Matsumoto. I would love to go...

Absolutely delicious! Everything was perfect from the soup to the bread, the salad, the main dish, all the way to the desserts — and by perfect, I mean: you cannot get something more delicious than what they serve here. I recommend the bovine meat lunch, as it's got insanely high quality meat cooked to perfection! I've been to steak houses in Shinjuku, and I can assure you the meat over there is not the filet mignon you'll get here in Vin Rouge. Definitely...
