Very rude. Unwelcoming for Japanese, even more for tourists. I went with Japanese friends, at the entrance we were told to go to the back of the restaurant and ask there for a table. Once there, the woman that was there asked us “did you order at the front?”. She had us walk the way back to the front to take orders before we could sit. She treated us very arrogantly and meant us to feel like we were lacking of common sense, while we only did what we were invited to do. We also verified afterwards if there is any sign of written instruction about that, that weren’t. The ambiance between the employees looked also very toxic. They must think they don’t need to treat their customers well and customers shall continue to flow in just because they are settled near Dôgo. Best choose a café that deserve your...

I've used this cafe with my family for the first time.
When we entered into this cafe, no staff welcomed us by saying "Irasshaimase (which means "welcome" in Japanese and cafe staffs are supposed to say it if the cafe is managed properly)" nor asking how many people in the party rather one staff suddenly said us like "You must order first!!" Since we were quite big group, I wanted to check if there would be enough space for our group, but the same staff yelled at us again like "YOU MUST ORDER first" I've never really experienced such rude staff lately so I was quite surprised. What's more, this café forces each guest to order one item even for your small kids (small kids like elementary school age cannot eat/drink all, but they force to (which is actually against Japanese consumer law)). When we finally sat the seats, no staff come to bring even glasses of water. The staffs were either rude or not taking care of guests well. Their shaved ice looks delicious though, the shaved ice is very fluffy and MELTING very fast. When 5 minutes has past, the shaved ice we ordered became like a too "sweaty" juice which tastes very bad.
Anyways, if you would like to try BAD guest service in Japan, this cafe is a perfect place to visit!!!! If you would like to experience really nice cafe in Japan, then stay away from this cafe (these recommendations are based on my experience...
Read moreNice but smallish burgers including beef, fish (red snapper) and I think chicken. English menu. You can choose a western style table, or push out to the back of the building for low tables on Tatami overlooking a garden. It's also a coffee house, so the set menu with a small salad, and couple of wedges, coffee and burger was a good deal and the right amount of food for lunch. I would have loved a few more wedges rather than the 4 or 5 on the plate!
I also ended up buying some coffee...
