味賞 三朝屋 — Restaurant in Misasa

I was on vacation and patronised this restaurant one evening in May 2023. I had a very delicious and enjoyable time here. The owner/chef, Hiro was very kind. He made me a wonderful kaiseidon dinner which I enjoyed every much. I had coffee after dinner and it was served with a piece of very delicious dark chocolate. Even though chef was busy, he still took time to answer my questions about the meal. I was very touched when I realised he was cooking and serving vegetables grown from his own garden. The sashimi on my rice was also fresh and delicious. Looking at the picture now, everything was delicious and there was a pumpkin mashed with honey that was super yummy! Oh, and he speaks great English! Chef was so friendly and funny and chatted with me since I was eating alone. Definitely want to eat here if I come back...

Hiro is our Hero!! Our party of 5 arrived unannounced at 7:30 our first evening in Misasa, and even though Hiro did not expect to feed another large party that evening, he made us a delicious multi-course meal from what he had in his refrigerator. He did this all while talking to his customers in Japanese of course but also perfect English and Chinese. We had such a wonderful time, we made a reservation for the next evening and requested Tottori beef. Again he surprised us with the menu (we only knew we would have steak if he could get it) and again we had an excellent meal and experience. We even left with a hand written recipe for one of his curries we loved it so much....

If you are unsure whether you should visit Misasa, Hiro-san's restaurant is the only reason you need. We randomly came by for lunch and had an incredible experience - so good we came back for dinner. Most of the ingredients used is grown by the owner, Hiro-san, himself and you can taste his passion for his food in every bite you take. Not only that, the whole atmosphere was remarkably welcoming in itself. We had a very good chat with Hiro and he told us about the food, how he made it and the thoughts he put into it.
