I went around 5:45 and there was a line out the door. They have a tablet at the front where you can enter your info and grab a ticket with a number. I tried to see if I could do it in English but I didn’t see an option, but it was busy so I didn’t look very long. Either way one step asked where I would like to sit and I just put anywhere, and I ended up with floor seating on the second floor. Not the most comfortable since I’m not flexible but probably my own fault.
I ordered the reimen noodle with galbi meat set. You can choose to get a larger size noodles and choose a spice level. The noodles were firm and very chewy, but tasted really good. I especially liked the slice of fruit (apple or pear, I couldn’t tell) they added which was a perfect way to finish the bowl. The kbbq meat is self-cook, but the grill is heated perfectly with minimal smoke and each piece only takes 10-20 seconds depending on how thick it is. Even when cooked fully brown on the outside, the inside still manages to stay juicy and tender.
I also ordered a coke highball, which is interesting in this place compared to other Japanese restaurants like an izakaya. For 650yen it’s very cheap, but it’s a thin bottle so you’re not getting a full size highball. However, the whiskey content is a lot higher here than normal, so in the end I think you are definitely getting your moneys worth with their drinks.
While the menu and waiting line tablet were not in English, the waiters could see I wasn’t fluent in Japanese and were very accommodating in speaking basic English to explain things to me.

I found that story behind the dish to be fascinating — how a Korean food evolved into something unique and beloved in this particular region of Japan. It made the experience more meaningful than just a simple meal.
The noodles had a pleasant chewiness, the broth was clean and refreshing, and the toppings were well-balanced. The meat served alongside was tender and flavorful, though I felt the portion was a bit small. Also, the kimchi-style spicy sauce, which adds a kick to the dish, was quite limited in amount. If you enjoy strong, spicy flavors, you might want to ask for extra.
Another downside was that the shop only accepts cash. Considering how common cashless payment has become, it felt a little inconvenient. I hope they consider updating this in the future.
