This hotel is quite some distance from Morioka station, there are few shops along the way, it's quite a boring walk but at least the hotel offers great hospitality.||To begin with, the hotel reception is located in 2F, but is connected by lift nonetheless. The hotel has a strict check-in time from 3pm until midnight, avoid coming to the hotel between 10am to 3pm, as it's hotel policy that no hotel guest can enter the hotel during this period, that said, guest also cannot deposit or collect luggage during this time frame. This is hotel policy, please do not argue with the helpless staffs over this.||Upon check-in, the process is rather automatic, you check-in from a machine, which will then issue a printed room number with access code, this access code is the digital key to your room (there is no physical key). I suggest whoever staying here take a picture of it with your phone in case you lost the printed slip. Right in front of the reception, there are free instant coffee, as well as pyjamas and various types of pillow for free rental.||My single room has a double bed, and still left adequate space for my belongings, in addition, there are plenty of power sockets for all my electrical appliances. Super Hotel emphasise plenty on healthy and sustainability, if you are staying more than 1 night, and decided it's not necessary for room cleaning the following day, you'll get a free bottle of mineral water. And if you return your toothbrush to the reception or bring your own chopsticks, you'll get a free snack. Besides that, the tap water is scientifically ionise and great for both consuming and bathing.||Super Hotel Morioka has coin laundry, and also 1 communal bath on 2F to be shared between gents and ladies with different interval. During ladies' usage period, the communal bath will be locked, and access passcode can be obtained from the reception, which is located on the same floor as the communal bath. It's claimed that the communal bath is using genuine spring water.||Breakfast is free for all staying guests, diagonally in front of the reception counter. The buffet variety is very good, with many hearty selection and an excellent view of Kitakami river.||One thing negative about the hotel is that, there are almost no shop along the way from Morioka station to the hotel (otherwise I would have given this review 5 stars), so I'd recommend you have your dinner before coming to the hotel, otherwise, you may have to make do with stuffs from the supermarket some 250m down the junction.||Check out is not necessary, you just grab your...
Read moreThe good bits - black-out blinds in rooms, comfortable beds, range of pillows to choose from, coin laundry with free detergent, location...||||But, this place has the most bizarre cleaning policy I have ever come across. No-one is allowed in the hotel from 10am to 3pm and the front doors are locked and bolted - even for guests. That means, if it starts to rain and you've not got an umbrella, or if you need to pick up a coat, FORGET IT. It's just odd. It also means that you can't use the on-site onsen during the day. A fatal flaw in this plan, however, is that if someone leaves the hotel, you (or any other passing thief) can sneak back through the door, past the unmanned reception and have access to the contents of whatever room you choose as the cleaners open every door on every corridor on the assumption that no-one can access the hotel. I managed to get in, go to my room, get my camera and walk out with it completely unchallenged. I could've been anyone.||||Breakfast is poor and only runs from 6.30am to 8.30am. The hours restrictions for the onsen meant I never...
