Jubei — Restaurant in Motobu

We are traveling Okinawa visiting as many “mom and pop” restaurants and stores as possible.

June I is such a fun treat. We were a bit worried going in because we didn’t speak Japanese but between google translate, the photos in the reviews we were able to order Okinawa Soba, Tofu, omakase sushi and local fish tempura.

It was my first introduction to Okinawa soba and it didn’t disappoint. Noodles were chewy and the broth was rich and flavorful. The omakase sushi came with some new fish (might have been a parrot fish with the blue scales) but for me the tempura was so good. The batter and fish seasoning was light and delicate and a new flavor overall. The tofu was beautifully fried and the toppings marinated.

Great local family owned sushi restaurant. We came here hungry for sushi after our visit to the aquarium. It turned out to be one of our best meals during our time in Okinawa. Owner Ken-chan-san was lovely and so very hospitable. He speaks a little English but if you are patient and respectful, he is wonderful company! Food was delicious and served with pride and joy. We had the sushi omakase, sashimi omakase, a whole fried fish, and the motobu beef. We had a fantastic experience here both with cuisine and culture. Highly recommend if you can get seated (it's small - seats about 20 pax). Also takes credit card payment which is a plus! If we ever return to Okinawa, we are definitely...

I paid 5000 yen for 10 sushi 1 miso and 2 beers plus a octopus and cucumber side. One of my amberjack has some gross fungus and barnacles growing off of it which should have not been presented to the customer.

At first the man seemed nice but then I told him I like trump and I think he gave me bad sushi and decided he didn't like me anymore.

Regardless of politics I always have respect for the working man and stimulate the economy.

Unfortunately if you decide to treat people bad based on politics the karma will return and your rats will infest the restaurant.
