一夜堂 — Restaurant in Nagoya

This must be one of the best shoyu ramen that I've had in Japan, if not the best.

The food itself is just delicious, simple and no non-sense. As can be seen from the photos. The soup is rich in flavour yet clear and refreshing. The noodle is thin soba noodle cooked with near perfect timing, neither too chewy nor too slimy. The potion is generous, I went for the 600 yen Yaki-buta Chowa Soba(燒豚中華そば) and I got more than 7 piece of thick-cut meat chops with the noodle.

And then the atmosphere added to the overall experience. Located in an off-centre neighbourhood full of residential blocks, the exterior of the restaurant is very low key and easily missed when passing by, the interior is nostalgic and reminds me another shoyu ramen restaurant in Tokyo that my Japanese friend took me to, which was said to be operating since the Shows era some 60 years ago. The shop is just like its food, simple, clean and no non-sense.

One other added benefit would be the minimalistic menu, with only 5 items(3 main dishes 500/600 yen, 1 go large option 100 yen and 1 rice bowl 100 yen), it makes the choice very easy for me as a foreigner and the value is incredible.

Overall if you are ramen lover and happen to have a bit more time to explore the non touristic part of the city then I would highly recommend you to try this restaurant. The noodle may not be one of those Nagoya "specialties" but the spirit of the owners...

少し前に📱: @nagoya_kousukeさんの投稿で知ったお店が気になっていて、近くまで行ったので食べに行って来ました♪

外に2人待っていましたが、車🚗を駐車する間に入れ替わりで入店された様子でした💡 私が店の前に到着すると、すぐに帰られる方がいて待つことなく入店できました😆

一枚板のメニュー板には 中華そば…500円 焼豚中華そば…600円 一夜中華そば…600円 大盛100円増し 御飯…100円

今時この安さ‼️

値段の上に貼り紙で書き換えられていてもおかしくないのに😳

どこにも『特製中華そば』という文字は見つけられないのですが、名古屋グルメ⭐︎こうすけさんのキャプションにあった様に勇気を出して「特製とご飯」と注文しました❗️

「すみません、ご飯終わっちゃいました」 『お米が買えなくて…」って

って、冗談でしょうが🤭

「お米高いですもんね〜」なんて、初めてなのに気楽に返したくなっちゃう話しやすい女将さん☺️

腰の低い女将さんが何度も何度もお詫びしてきてくれるので、返ってこっちが申し訳ない気持ちになっちゃいました😅

着丼した中華そばは卵とじと焼豚のネギというシンプルなもの🍜

優しいスープと卵とじが絡んだちぢれ麺は素朴でホッとする味ですね☺️

焼豚はオンザライスして食べたくなるのも納得の焼豚です😋

卓上には焼豚のタレがあり、ご飯🍚に焼豚を乗せタレを回しかけたら… って、想像でヨダレが出てきます🤤

13:30には暖簾を取り込んでいたので、次回はご飯🍚が売り切れてしまわない早い時間に食べに行かねば‼️
