Lyrical Coffee Donut — Restaurant in Nagoya

Being a 3-minute walk from Kamejima Station, accessing Lyrical Coffee Donut is super easy. The outside of the building stands out, being painted blue while snuggled into the railway where all of the Shinkansen and local trains run.

There are massive menus on the outside to pique a passerby's interest. This cafe specializes in handmade donuts, multiple types of coffee drinks, delicious lunch sandwiches, and kakigori for the warmer summer days.

The inside is stunning, decorated with many different types of dry flowers and cute knickknacks. If you come here fairly frequently, you can see the decor change from time to time providing a fresh dining experience. Being immersed in a hideaway cafe that smells fantastic (from the flowers) and the great choice of music (they have a massive collection of cds) is a treat.

During this visit, I got a cafe latte and a white chocolate donut. The cafe latte was solid; not outstanding but still delicious. I loved the donut. It feels delectable yet not overindulgent. The donuts run a little on the drier side, which I personally like as it feels more akin to a cake donut. Some people may not enjoy that texture, but I certainly do.

Speaking of, the presentation of your food is very picturesque, as this is the only place I've seen that includes a small vase of dried flowers on the tray with your food and beverage. It's a refreshing signature touch.

I knocked the atmosphere down a star for a few nitpicky things. One, and this is completely out of control of the cafe, but you will sometimes be interrupted by trains passing on the railway above. I imagine some people may find that jarring. Two, with the way the cafe has flowers hanging from the ceiling (at the time of this review), it means taller people have to crouch to walk around the cafe. This won't affect most people, but if you're taller, it's something to be aware of. Three, again out of the control of the cafe, the bathroom is about a two-minute walk away inside of the same building. These are minor points, but, for some, worth noting.

A really pretty café with cute décor. The donuts are affordable and delicious. There are different types of coffee to choose from.

I highly recommend the orange donut which can be warmed - yummy!

The shop is nice and clean and we felt very welcome. Both staff members were very polite and friendly.

This place is special. Soft jazz swirling around sweet-scented dried flower bouquets dangling from above. Sandwiches of soft, proper bread, smooth cheese, and fresh vegetables aplenty. Actual donuts that leave you feeling content rather than guilty. And the coffee... brilliant....
