Worth it! I showed up at 10:55am and put my name on the waitlist. I only waited for a few minutes since they opened at 11. I got the "Handy bowl" and it was amazing! The Unagi is tender with lovely crispy skin and it's very interesting seeing how the flavours change from one method of eating to another. FYI you may need to request the dashi broth which is free of charge but they didnt give it to me until I requested it once I got to stage 3. I’ve had my fair share of eel and this one had just the right amount of sauce (not slathered overwhelmingly), crisp (crispy on the edges and tender inside) and grilled fragrance. Staff were very friendly and English menu was provided to help you enjoy the three ways of eating this dish. I usually hardly finish my rice but here with the dashi and the condiments I finished it all quite easily lol Ask for more dashi or seaweed or spring onion and they’d gladly refill it for you. Read moreIf you are in Nagoya, you must go this place! Hitsumabuahi is bowl of eel and it is very famous dish in Nagoya. It’s so delicious and unique style to have a bowl of eel. There are 3 stages. First, you just enjoy eating the eel bowl, and second, you put some ingredients such as dried seaweed, green onion, or wasabi.
