Neat little unagi shop in Asato, came after seeing the great reviews. It's a quiet atmosphere with interesting Okinawan(?) music, and I was served immediately. I picked the ひつまぶし with 1/2 eel. The eel was crispy and super delicious. Top that with the provided seasonings and broth, the whole dish was incredibly flavourful. Definitely something to experience at least once in Japan. I docked a point in service though because the staff insisted on speaking English and translating stuff to me though I spoke Japanese (maybe that's a personal peeve, I get that they're just trying to do their jobs; the rest of the service was fine though). Also worthy of note: I, who usually never write reviews, have been prompted to write this with a free snack incentive. I suspect this is the reason this restaurant has so many reviews on Google. Amazing Unagi Experience at MinUna in Naha!

If you're a fan of eel or looking to try something special while in Okinawa, MinUna Unagi Restaurant on Kokusai Dori is an absolute must-visit! The moment you step in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, clean atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.

The highlight, of course, is the unagi (grilled eel) — perfectly grilled with a slightly crispy outside and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness inside. The flavor is rich, savory, and slightly sweet, thanks to their house-made sauce that pairs wonderfully with the steamed rice. It’s clear they take great care in both quality and presentation.

Rice is absolutely terrible. Clumps of it together, had to chew it like its rubber/candy. First time and it’s an absolute terrible experience, idk how it’s almost 1k reviews with such high rating. Price range 20+ to 30+. Maybe i just got unlucky but the fact that it’s either not consistent or it’s always just this bad puts me off. No joke i’d rather have my unagi from donki for 10+ with a small tamago than deal with this shitty rice clump situation. Unagi is meh, say reals it’s just meh.
