Urizun is an atmospheric izakaya located just outside the old world alleyways of Sakaemachi. The menu offered a variety of Okinawan dishes, and I tried the Okinawan Soba, made of chewy wheat noodles in a savory broth topped with braised fatty pork, fish cake, scallions, and pickled ginger. I also had the Goya Champuru, a smokey stir-fried mixture of bittermelon, tofu, egg, and fish cake. If you want authentic Okinawan food, there is no better place to go. We went here on a Sunday night, didn't make reservation, and were lucky to get a seat.
