The service was excellent but the steak was tough. All three of us ordered the 35 day dry aged boneless rib steak.
We had three sides, steamed broccoli, white rice and sauteed mushrooms.
To drink we had camomile and rooibos tea. The rooibos tea was nice.
The steamed broccoli was perfectly steamed and definitely tasted fresh. The mushrooms were also perfectly done with olive oil. Both sides were large enough to share 3 ways.
The real disappointment was the steak. It was tough and dry. The outer surface was overdone and the center was what some might call a bullet, so under done that it is tough to chew.
We eat steak out at several times a month and usually eat 20 day dry aged Japanese sirloin medium rare or U.S. filet rare. It is always cooked to perfection, juicy and flavourful.
Our regular place isn't nearly as nice as this restaurant but for us it is all about the steak.
We wouldn't go here for...
