Our visit to Piparchi was an unforgettable experience! This place is incredibly popular, and when we tried to get a table a few days earlier, we had no luck since we arrived late. This time, we made sure to come earlier, around 18:45, and were seated right away.
The food was exceptional. We each ordered a full set menu, which included a drink, main dish, and a side dish or dessert. We tried the fish, Ica rice, and pork dishes, and every single one was a delight. The unique combinations of ingredients and flavors made each dish a true standout. The careful attention to detail in the preparation created an exciting and memorable dining experience. We also decided to try a couple of side dishes, and I highly recommend the shrimp paste with chips. The balance between the creamy paste and the crispy chips was spot on, offering a delightful contrast in both taste and texture.
Unfortunately, the getto ice cream, which we were eager to try, was sold out. However, the tiramisu more than made up for it. This was a unique tiramisu, which featured a delightful twist with rum, a refreshing change of the classic dessert.
In addition to the amazing food, they also offers homemade drinks that are not to be missed. The handmade cola was a particular highlight, it was the best cola I’ve ever had, perfectly balanced with just the right blend of spices and sweetness.
If I ever return to Okinawa, Piparchi will be at the top of my list to visit again. The restaurant’s theme, centered around piparchi, a type of pepper, is not only unique but also extremely well executed. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant’s design, featuring locally made plates and pottery, was perfectly aligned with the theme and added to the overall ambiance. Everything from the decor to the dishes contributed to a cohesive and thoroughly enjoyable...
Read moreIt’s hard to categorize the Piparchi Kitchen experience. Our family of 4 including two young daughters thought we were going to an izakaya for a quick meal and we ended up with WOW.
The menu is small compared to most places and it scared me at first cause I’m a big eater. We ordered the summer Hamburg set with miracle olives and smoked cheese and homemade ginger orange soda, fish set with tofu and a hot ginger tea. We also ordered a side of the sausage.
What came out was a beautifully plated collection of flavors, textures, colors and surprises. The hamburger had grated radish in Hibiscus which lent just a hint of summer into the juicy ground meat patty. The brown rice was textured and paired with the soup was a meal in itself. Next time I’m unwell, I’m flying back for the soup.
Fish was crispy fried but not greasy and moist and delicate inside. The tofu we order was AMAZING. It was tofu, mochi that blended into what felt like melted cheese. We’ve never had tofu like it.
Even the drinks were delicious. Refreshing, flavorful and not too sweet. Our meal was so good we needed to see what they did for dessert.
We got the brown sugar cheese cake and ginger ice cream. There was a hint of the piparchi pepper in both and we loved it. It make everything so complex. Our kids who normally dislike pepper couldn’t get enough.
Didn’t know there was parking available but we walked the 10minutes from our hotel. It was totally worth it and a unique...

Food: 5/5 - I had a tough time choosing what dishes to order as everything looked delicious as the server brought food to other tables. I had the pork steak which was the best I had in ages. The meat was tender with melted in your mouth taste. If you love spicy go for their piparchi sausage. I opted for the Menu B option as I wanted to try their drinks and dessert. I enjoyed the hot Okinawa ginger drink and had the caramel cheesecake. Everything was fresh and tasty.
Service: 5/5 - server was friendly and helpful. I arrived just after 3 pm as they were about to close. She suggested I make a dinner reservation before they reopened at 5:30 pm. It didn’t take long for lineups to start even on a rainy night, people weren’t deterred. There’s a waiting list that you complete when the place is full.
Atmosphere: 5/5 - a cosy small place with a unique character. A nice vibe to the place. Lots of solo diners who ate at the counter.
If you love good food, this is a must visit and...
