Strata — Restaurant in Naha

I was in Naha and decided to check out this cafe that has been on my radar for a while. I was happy that they had 2 hour free parking available. The parking lot is very modern and there is a call button for assistance. Once inside the cafe is right to the left. I love the big windows that let in the sun and overlook a lot of beautiful greenery. I was greeted very warmly and an English menu was presented which made ordering easier. I tried the lunch set with dessert. I liked the salad and soup bar. The famous corn potage was delicious and is a popular soup in Japan. I was given an assortment of appetizers that were elegantly presented and tasted scrumptious. The Dutch Pancake with Okinawa local Pork shoulder was very flavorful. The dessert plate had three small desserts to try and I liked them all- especially the berry crepe. I enjoyed the ambience and overall classy vibe. All the servers were friendly and kept the cafe running smoothly. I thought the menu was an eclectic mix of dishes inspired from all over the world. The Dutch pancake reminded me of the Netherlands, the crepe of France, the cured meat with olives of Spain and some of the traditional dishes and flavors of Japan. I love places like this that awaken your palate! The full lunch included appetizers with dessert and I added a ginger ale came out to 2980 yen. Highly recommend ordering the set lunch. It comes with a buffet salad, soup, and beverage, and comes with a quiche starter along with an assortment of other small appetizer bites. Then you can choose from a selection of buckwheat galettes as your main. We had the beef/mushroom one as well as a seasonal yellowtail fish one and both were delicious. Cafe Strata is inside the Hotel Strata. Clean and bright atmosphere with lots of natural light from floor to ceiling windows. Staff are friendly. The food was excellent, a little more than I could finish. Loved just sitting there. Feels like you're sitting in a living room, looking out the window....
