Best coffee we've had in 3 weeks travelling in Japan (which included sampling the extremely expensive coffee at Glitch in Tokyo and Osaka!). The two women serving at Mikazu Kishoten were friendly, and expert baristas. It's easy to choose what to order because they have a multi-language menu with pictures explaining how many shots, how much milk etc. I loved that they serve oat milk but this had run out when we went back a second time at 3.30pm (not a problem - it's a downside of being on an island: supplies run out and you can't easily nip out for more). We loved looking around the cosy shack and we sat outside on the bench cover in denim (which we recently learned the Kojima area nearby is famous for producing). Highly recommended for best coffee in Naoshima. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I stopped by this café while exploring Naoshima and I’m glad I did. The vibe here is cozy and rustic, with a simple yet charming interior that invites you to slow down. It’s the kind of place where you can take a break, sip slowly, and just enjoy the calm of the island. I ordered their matcha—decent taste, not too strong or bitter. Fair for the price. What made the experience better was the quiet atmosphere, which was perfect after cycling around the island. A good spot to rest and recharge.

One of my favorite coffee spots of all time. It’s small and quaint, which adds some charm to the place. But the latte and the company is outstanding. It’s seriously the best iced latte I’ve had, and the owner is super friendly. We talked for a while and he told me about the shop and how he started and how he lived in the US for a bit. Please stop by and try this place. You won’t regret it.
