I would like to summarize everything here before going to details. This place does not give you a welcoming vibe. They are just there because they had to. Service was not too bad but worse comparing to other restaurants/cafes around that area. Price was not cheap. Coffee was very bad. Service was bad. Cafe atmosphere was super bad. I hate it and will never go back or recommend anyone to this place.
The cafe has so many signs (almost like part of wall decoration) specifying their rules with red marker on it. There were so many that I felt like the owner must have been traumatized by tourists so they just can't help but keep putting ugly papers on every inch of the wall. Not a nice view to see.
Coffee was the worst I have had in Japan. I and my sister ordered 2 cups of hot latte. It taste so bad that we had the same reaction. It also had some weird texture in our latte. Kind of a milk protein forming up to some weird shape, texture, and taste. Pretty disgusting.
My sister went to the restroom and she said someone was knocking on her door. I wasn't sure who so I thought it might be another tourist. But then I went to the restroom, someone knocked on my door. I said yes to the person but there was no one then I continued in the restroom and they knocked again. I was kinda pissed because I was in there for 10 seconds and the knocking sound was already 2 times. I asked my sister if some customer went to the restroom after me and she said no one. So it must be the staff that knocked. I really don't understand the point of knocking the toilet door twice when I got in and didn't even take off my pants yet. Super pissed.
1 star for just the heater in...
Read moreWe walked past and stopped here to get a quick lunch. The cafe was relaxing to sit down but service was subpar. The food was however, not worth the money as it was very overpriced for what was provided - 1100yen per set meal. We chose three omurice (chicken and vegetarian) and one beef Curry rice. The meal comes with one salad appetiser and main. The meat and vege in the meals are extremely sparse (unable to visually see any meat really and lucky to see five peas) and it will mostly be plain rice. The taste of the food was average to below. I would recommend choosing elsewhere as there are plenty of...
Read morePerfect location for visitors to Nara park and Todai-ji. A small cafe with an excellent menu that even has something for Western tourists - although you should really try their charcoal chicken balls. As with all the coffee in Japan, even their standard cup of coffee is fantastic. Free WiFi so you can upload your review...
