Our hotel made a reservation at this place after asking for a recommendation. So, we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and saw it was a Michelin rated location.

But, the star is well deserved. The service and hospitality were excellent. The chef cares deeply about the presentation, and explained each dish (with a handheld translator). The 500-cut squid was out of this world.

The ambiance was nice and calm. It was only us and another group of two, so it really felt like a private experience.

If we come back to Nara, we'll definitely...

Do not go. Been to 20 Michelin restaurant and this is the one that makes me doubt the standards of Michelin. the portion is laughable, the fish accompanying the rice is the size of a dice. It would be a huge waste of time and money. All the fish have very limited flavor....

Fantastic dinner and atmosphere. The “new” rice signature dish was superb, as was the tuna with radish and the mushroom soup. Despite the language barrier friendly and enthusiastic team. Highly recommend. Walking distance from JW Marriott.
