The food was great. There was English menu and instruction on how to savor the meal. Staffs spoke simple English. There were electric outles on the table. But the queue system was terrible. It was usual to find "write your name first and we'll call you". Someone wrote "Connie" twice in exact same writings but different pax quantity. The male staff in charge of the list insists on calling this Connie even though there was no Connie stood up to the call. A Chinese family consisted of different number of pax saw this opportunity and the father declare himself Connie. I would really wanted to laugh at the situation but this family actually skip our queue. After that the staff let guests in by "who's first come to ask me available table" system. The restaurant was kind enough to allow us to only order one set menu, allowing my not-hungry daughter to share a portion of my dish. They brought her kid’s dishes without asking, and after a bit of persuading, the munchkin devoured her portion and demanded more - she is a very picky eater. Read moreWe came here for lunch not because of any recommendations or reviews, but rather due to its location, just at the exit of Nara Park. We were all tired and hungry after coming from Kyoto and spending hours strolling at the temple and feeding the 🦌.
The food turned out to be really delicious and we also loved its presentation. This was the first time we tried the Gyu don Teishoku in Japan. My daughters loved it so much.
No language barriers as the staff here are used to foreign visitors and can handle English conversation very well.
