wanted to taste dorayaki while we were in japan and we found this shop while we were in Nara. the dorayaki was very light and fluffy, the filling was thick and creamy yet slightly sweet. the person selling the snacks was very friendly and helped me out with the coins 😅

Outstanding japanese sweets! Pudding is really delicious, not to mention the presentation (see pictures). You even have a section of the container to see what to expect. Motchi with a real strawberry inside! There is free tea and water if you buy something.

2025.4.30. 　国宝展を観に行って３時に伺いましたが、お目当ての大和三山(どら焼き)が売り切れていました。仕方なく奈良産の苺の大福とアイスコーヒーを購入し二階のイートインで頂きました。二階のゴミ置き場が汚かったので時々片付けに来てくださいね。あとお願いですが、国宝展の時は博物館の中でも販売して頂けないでしょうか？ 2024.4.25. 普通に2階に上がって行ったらキッチンが閉まっていたので、再度1階に降り、柏餅といちご大福とアイスコーヒーと、持ち帰り用の三笠を買って、2階に上がりました。イートインした商品は10％、持ち帰り用は消費税8％でした。ランチがなくなったからか、2階はガラガラでした。 2022.1.8.　今回初めて買った草餅が柔らかくて美味しかったです。 2階のカフェは混んでいそうだったので1階で買物だけしました。1階も狭いのにお客さんがレジ待ちしててスタッフ1人での対応が大変そうでした。入口にあるカゴにカウンター上のお菓子を入れて、自分より先に店に入っていた人の精算を椅子に座って待ち、自分の番になったらガラスケースのお菓子も注文して精算です。 2021.10.30. カフェは2回目。スタッフ二人で大忙し。大変そうでした。みたらし団子は熱々にして食べるととても美味しかったです。天平庵は奈良を代表する大好きな和菓子のお店ですが、東大寺前にあったとは…。でも店に入って気づいたのは、数年前に来たことがあったということ。忘れてた…。二階のカフェは初めて入りました。今は空いていて、ゆっくり出来ます。

The cafe is located on the second floor of the Tempyo-an shop within the Yume-Plaza with other shops and restaurants.

We got the Matcha set which contains Matcha Tea, a traditional Japanese dessert and two candies.

If you like the seasonal strawberry daifuku mochi, a must try. You'll definitely be paying for the quality- if you have Y280 to spare for a bite sized quality strawberry mochi, then highly recommend to give it a try.
