SYABU-YO Nara Kashiwagi — Restaurant in Nara

Staff super friendly. Brought our family here based on a recommendation from Jo Macgregor's The Tokyo chapter blog. For dinner there is a 100 minute time limit. After ordering your food selection choice (e.g. pork and chicken) and drinks, don't forget to actually order your food..we thought they'd just give us a selection immediately. You need to input your selections and it will come out in about two minutes. No one here speaks English (this is not a negative and wasn't expected, especially for it being in the suburbs) ... However for non Japanese speakers this was challenging when they tried to explain the time limit and drink orders (my wife had planned to drink water but since the rest of the family ordered drinks, we were asked to have her pay for an unlimited drink also). We are from the states and it has Souplantation vibes. It is very family friendly (they have cotton candy, shaved ice, and waffles/soft serve for dessert) in addition to curry rice and a plethora of fresh vegetables to go alongside your meat orders. The chicken meatballs are shumai like. Would highly recommend visiting. Just be sure not to stay too late like us ... It was difficult getting back to Kyoto since direct trains from Nara stopped running around 830pm. Thank you for the excellent...

A chain shabu shabu, hotpot restaurant! They have very good deals and you should try out their lunch deals. Their selection of appetisors and sauces is also quite respectable. Just take note of what you can order when you select the respective lunch sets, and that the ordering time can be slightly shorter for some selections because they also factor in some buffer time. Visited this restaurant for lunch with my tour group on the 12th December 2023, I mistakenly took a glass of beer which unfortunately is not part of the meal package arranged by my tour group. The service staff complaint to my travel guide and came over to where I am sitting, she could have explained nicely to my guide who understood Japanese but instead behaved rudely and impatiently just to create a scene to embarrass...
