I wanted to try the local delicacy here at Nikko, which is Yuba. It was... ok? Think of it like thinly sliced beef, but tofu.
I also got the local Nikko beer, which ended up tasting like a Pale Ale, it was nice!
Also, I found that this store had a different variant of soba, with soy milk and what I'm assuming is Yuba water. Mix this together with normal soba sauce, green onions and wasabi, and you have your dipping broth. The broth ended up being quite bland, with most of the flavour coming from the wasabi. My fault, I might've gotten the ratios wrong, next time, I'll add less Yuba water.

The tofu in particular was excellent—not overpowering in flavor, just perfectly balanced.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Overall, it’s a restaurant I’d definitely recommend if you’re...

The meal ended up being quite expensive for what it was—around 1600 yen for a coke and two appetisers that were underwhelming - quite dry, lacking in flavor . For this price, you can get a proper meal set at other cafés in Nikko.
Both the pork sticks and yuba dumplings were underwhelming. It may be that I chose the wrong items to try here, but based on my experience, I can't really...
