This was the most wonderful dining experience. The chef Ishida is friendly and welcoming and every dish is magnificent. We loved how he used local ingredients and everything was so fresh. The flavours are amazing. The meat dishes were tender and tasty and the variety of vegetables served was incredible. The food is beautifully presented and a perfect fusion between Western and Japanese influences and flavours. This fabulous tiny restaurant was such a special and unexpected surprise to find in Nikko. I am so glad that we stumbled upon it when walking through Nikko. I definitely recommend that you make a reservation and I will definitely return next time...

One man operation, really impressed! Such a great experience, chef Ishida is very friendly and welcoming - he even offered us a lift to our hotel after as we had not gone there to check in. Super light and refreshing meal, good quality ingredients cooked well. You can see he even personalised the menu! My favourite was the rich mushrooms potage and the pork, as well as the basil yoghurt dressing...
