お好み焼きじゅじゅ — Restaurant in Nishinomiya

I love okonomiyaki, and I have eaten in a lot of okonomi restaurants. This one stands out to me as one of the best. The sauce is the same as most places, the mayonnaise the same, and that makes up for a lot of the taste, BUT it’s the texture and the presence of the other ingredients that make it great. The cabbage is perfectly cut to the size where they can be soft but still have crunch. The pork and other meat toppings are tender and are cut to make it easy to eat with chopsticks. It’s just very well done. The restaurant is a bit old and the outside is a bit dark which makes it looked closed, but take the chance and enter. 2024/1/22(月)14:30に娘と来店しました。 娘と一緒に行くのは10数年ぶり。 あれは娘が小学生時代、USJに一緒に行った時に連れていった。 私の中では、人生で一番美味しいお好み焼きと思っている。 広島風の豚が最高です。

そもそもこのお店、私が独身時代、西宮に2年間住んでいた時に通っていたお店。東京に戻っても、出張の合間に時々通っていた。

2023年、娘も社会人となり、赴任先が三宮となった。先日、娘一人で来店したらしい。

今回、娘と一緒に有馬温泉に行き、その帰りにJUJUに寄った。娘と一緒にまた来ることが出来るとは。

店員さんは基本寡黙。それで良い。愛想が良いわけでは無いし、声も大きくない。でも、その控えめなのが気に入っている。

5,6年前、「これが最後になるかな？」と思っていただけに、嬉しい時間だった。 食べ終わり、折角来たので西宮神社を参拝した。お正月に「福男」がニュースになる神社だ。
