I had high hopes walking into Okinoshima given the hype that the broth is unique but my experience was underwhelming from start to finish.

First off, the customer service left much to be desired. Upon entry, there were no greetings or acknowledgment from the staff. Not exactly the warm welcome you’d hope for when dining out. After finishing our meal, the same cold treatment continued—no thank you, no farewell, it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than guests.

Now to the ramen: the soup base, arguably the heart and soul of any bowl of ramen, was mediocre and lacked depth. It is passable but nothing to write home about. The noodles were so-so and the toppings were sparse and uninspired. In fact, this was the only Ramen place throughout our month long trip that we couldn't even finish our meal (usually we slurped everything up within minutes).

Overall, it feels like a place riding on its name rather than delivering quality food or service. There are far better ramen spots in the city that actually value their customers and take pride in their broth. This was a one-and-done...

Delicious , soul warming ramen. It's served in a hot and steamy ramen bar that drags you back to a humid summer for the duration of your meal. You will need to strip off your winter layers.

The menu is all bilingual with a good explanation of each item both outside, and on the vending machine itself.

I enjoyed the blue ' flying fish ' broth which had a light , savoury delicious flavour. There were other stocks including chicken and shellfish based stocks.

The pork chashu was tender and fell apart as you grabbed it with your chopsticks. I can highly recommend this place...

Cold day with delicious ramen is a joy. Fish, shell fish and chicken based stocks. It has been awhile since having fish stock base, so this is what we went for- full of flavour with less of the fat added (compared to pork, beef, chicken). My favourite noodle type: straight flour water (rather than egg noodles), and some of the best pork slices.....complete melt in the mouth pork grilled before topping the ramen. Nice soft boiled egg, delicious gyoza, and pork on rice. All very tasty.

Ticket machine in english...
