Boston Steak Okayama Ekimae — Restaurant in Okayama

We called the day before and made a reservation for our wedding anniversary. It was fully booked so we had no choice but to sit on the counter. There was a bit of confusion since I couldn't speak Japanese very well. The waitress had to ask me for my phone number to confirm. We ordered roasted lettuce Caesar salad, mashed potatoes and two 150g round tip steaks. The salad was average but good for sharing. The mashed potatoes topped with a slightly soft boiled egg was dry. The gravy on it was runny and tasted like nothing. My husband said my mashed potatoes tasted so much better. The steaks were very good. Although even if we were sitting right in front of the chef, he took forever to serve our steaks even if he can clearly see we finished our salad and mashed potatoes. He kept going outside to talk to other patrons. It seems like they only prioritise regulars than first time guests. Which is a shame. But the steak was tender...

The food was decent but I found one of the waitresses to be very rude, apparently because I requested a table different from where she wanted to seat me. I am the one paying the bill so I am not going to be crammed in a corner surrounded by a bunch of other people when there is a table for two that has a little breathing room on the other side of the restaurant.
