Simply put, the best steak I’ve ever tasted anywhere. The worst bite of Mr. Nishioka’s beef will be as good as the best bite you’ve ever tasted before. Service was impeccable. Staff were incredibly inviting and offered us a complimentary first round of drinks. The value was ridiculous relative to the overpriced wagyu places in Tokyo. Portions were plentiful. The apps included in the set menu were phenomenal and diverse in flavor. The accompaniments for the steak, most notably the Cambodian black pepper and two salt combination were off the charts. The meat was of course superb but I was most impressed by the impeccable selection of ingredients for every part of the course menu; the chef was able to bring out an exceptional depth of flavour with sophisticated but never overwhelming seasonings.
