Souhachiya — Restaurant in Okinawa

Gotta say, this place Souhachiya in Awase is my new favorite ramen/chahan place. We walked there tonight and they didn’t disappoint. Kind of a thicker broth like Ozakura, with thicker homemade noodles. My wife got the bean sprout garlic one and it was good. I got the chasiu fried rice and it reminded of this place I used to get fried rice at on Gate2 street as a kid, it was my favorite back then. Their chasiu is the star of the show though. Not your normal Japanese style, this one had a bit of a Chinese flavor and was amazing.

Update: we regularly order Souhachiya through Uber...

The Ramen was very delicious as a Jiro-Style ramen restaurant. Of course you can assign the vegetable, oil, garlic amount and also ramen hardness according to your preference, that’s routine for Jiro-ramen. Wonton ramen was also good, especially the wonton, mixed with pure pork, ginger and spices...

It was hot as hell bc they had the window open and the ac off. When they saw people with fans, they finally shot the window and turned on the ac.

Regarding the ramen. Lots of meat and toppings 👍. But the noodles were overcooked and the broth was not very appetizing 👎.

The staff was very friendly...
