Interior: modern simplistic / Minimalistic Japanese with Japanese string music.

Counter seating is for omakase. There was table seating as well.

Food is good but not outstanding or exceptional but certainly very interesting and presented beautifully.

A Plate of 5 amouse bouche: Egg plant was smoked Conger eel was ok Konjac was really interesting, cucumber and prawn was average The egg custard with snow crab and caviar on the top was nice The sea bream was fishy and not that great.

The soup of shimeji mushrooms with a price of sea bream - soup was very subtle and the sea bream was perfectly cooked

The sashimi: tuna was perfect and the sea bream was good. The fish paste was very intense and over powered the other two.

The tile fish and sea urchin dish was good. The tile fish cooked perfectly to the point its skin was crispy Turnip with goat and duck was ok. Boiling duck wasn’t the best method to cook it. The Goya was ok as was the turnip.

The whelk shellfish with sea grapes was interesting- the sea grapes is also Okinawa sea weed.

The wagyu beer came with a hot stone -3 pieces of 10-15 grams each with miso sauce. Small portion of rice and miso soup with nameko mushroom which was excellent.

The mango pudding was lovely but the red paste somewhat was a clash. The waiter melon and cheese with walnut was very nice tasted like a hard candy.

Honaker, the maitre’d was excellent at explaining the dishes in English and cooking technique.

Cocktails were good- it was brought across from...

This is definitely a top-tier kaiseki restaurant, and the experience was exceptional. Although it was on the expensive side, the food quality was unmatched. The service was undeniably superb, with excellent communication from the staff. They prepared everything exactly as I wanted to surprise my parents, making the occasion even more special.

The dishes featured unique flavors that you simply can't find anywhere else, showcasing the chef's remarkable ability to create exquisite cuisine. A standout was the coconut cake, which was especially tasty and a delightful ending to our meal. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable...

I had the kaiseki menu, it was good but I expected it to be better. I do have to say the menu had lots of ingredients I’m not used to, so that might have made a bit harder for me to enjoy. The food was good, staff was very nice, and we enjoyed a nice dinner overall. If you are staying at the Halekulani hotel, it is definitely worth trying the restaurant. They offer other types of mixed menus as well. Follow me @takemeeating on insta...
