Highly recommended!! I just had a fabulous and heartwarming experience at this Ramen shop! After eating the wonderful ramen and yummy gyoza I asked to photograph a nice traditional cloth that was framed and hung on the wall (apparently typical of Kyoto). Without hesitation the lady of the house took it out of the framing and gave it to me as a present!! She was so sweet and generous about it and wouldn't accept my refusal. I will surely never forget this! I realize that tourism in an important source of income and that they give small souvenirs to visitors, but this was beyond anything I could expect! Such genuinely sweet people!!
Also, the local style ramen was super fresh and delicious and I love the fact that the soup was yummy yet light and not heavy on my tummy.
All the staff and of course the owners were very friendly, and even though they don't speak so much English (and I was the only foreigner in shop at the time), they were very helpful, and the menu and vending machine have English on them.

Bottom line: excellent food and amazing hospitality!! Highly...

The fried pork fat is a delight and adds to the complexity as you eat.
