焼肉食堂 かど家 鶴ヶ丘店 — Restaurant in Osaka

I ordered the “Kuro-Wa Wagyu Kalbi Bento” from Demae-can. Perhaps it was meant to be “Kuroge Wagyu Kalbi Bento,” but I’ll refer to it by the name listed by the restaurant.

The product photo showed thick, impressive cuts of meat, but what I actually received was so thinly sliced, it looked almost translucent from the front. When I called the restaurant to ask, I was told, “Yes, it is Kalbi, but we serve it thinly sliced,”—an explanation that raised more questions than answers.

When I previously ordered from the same store—Camp Style Nagaieki-Mae—the meat was just like the photo, and I liked it enough to reorder. But this bento? Definitely no repeat.

Even if the meat’s weight was technically the same, drastically changing the thickness gives the impression of a deceptive business practice—hardly what you’d expect from a yakiniku shop.

Paying 1,600 yen for what looked like a bowl of beef slices as thin as rice paper (and no, not “melt-in-your-mouth” thin—just thin and chewy) made me regret not simply going to Matsuya and getting a large-size beef Kalbi bowl, the true hero of the everyday Japanese table. お昼のランチで利用しましたが、おいしいハラミの定食がコーヒー付きでリーズナブルに楽しめました。 お店が混雑していると煙でモクモクになるのがちょっと残念なので、誰にでもオススメする店ではありませんが、昭和の焼肉屋を思い出させる雰囲気が私は結構好きです。

2022年4月追記 コロナで休業期間が長かったのですが、営業が再開されたので何度かお邪魔してます。お得なランチは以前の通りですしスタッフの対応も親切です。少し前から各テーブルごとに排煙用の配管が設置され、ウィルス対策の換気もバッチリな感じになりました。

2022年11月追記 星５→星３へ変更です。 しばらくお邪魔してなかったのですが、価格改定(値上げ)されたので、敢えてどんな感じかと思ってランチに行ってみました。 ハラミ定食(LL￥2,000)を食べましたがかなり残念な感じ。値段は以前よりだいぶ上がったけど内容はグレードダウンです。 ①明らかに以前より肉が薄くなった感じがしました。本当に200gあるのか？と以前より量も減ったように思えたのが残念。 ②たまたま仕入れが悪かったのかもしれないがハラミに少し臭みがあり食感もややパサパサして美味しくなかったのが、かなり残念。 ③食後のサービスで付いていたアイスコーヒーが無くなってとても残念。 ④注文がタッチパネルになった。これは便利になったので別に構わないけど、見本の写真は美味しそうだが現物がイマイチだったため残念度が増幅しました(_

近所の住民ですがほんとに残念です。 2022.10.31以来の来店でしたが、食事面でいろいろ変わってしまいました。
