CoCo Ichibanya Yodogawaku-nishinakajima — Restaurant in Osaka

This is a chain restaurant. Note: I went to the Shin-Osaka outpost, not the one at the address listed here. But since its a chain all locations should be pretty much the same.

Inexpensive, fast, right across the street from Shin-Osaka's East Gate. Order from one of the two machines inside the door to the right. The menu is available in English and there are pictures. Choose what you want, what size, and if you want any toppings or sides. Your order will appear on a little list in the upper right hand corner. When your list is complete and correct, insert your money. Take your coupon(s), change, if any, and select a table or take a seat at the counter.

A server will bring you hot tea. Food comes out rapidly. Your order may come with miso soup. It'll be in a small brown bowl with a lid on it. On your table will be a caddy with various sauces and dressings. There's a drawer at the bottom of the caddy where the chopsticks are kept. I enjoyed my beef and rice.

Water is available from a machine at the dividing line between the counter and tables. If you're at the counter, pitchers of water are on the counter. Remember, this is fast, inexpensive street food. Understand that and enjoy trying things you may not otherwise have had...
