Food was amazing, no complaints. Service on the other hand, extremely poor. Please do better.
I came in on a Saturday around 9/10pm, only a bartender and the cook were working. Everything was slow since -after being seated, we were not given a menu until much later, but japanese customers that came in after us was greeted and immediately given a menu. We ordered 2 items, the margherita pizza and fish & chips, the food took quite some time to come out. We also had to ask for water refills multiple times before they gave us a refill.
Upon paying the bill, only the credit card receipt was given. Total amount looked strange as it sums up to more than what I expected. I asked the bartender for the receipt, which she gave and all my orders were marked as カスタム (custom). Aside from that, the bartender inputted 3 items instead of the 2 items we ordered earlier and the price of the food was different from the menu. I came back to her and literally just said "excuse me", but she replied back with "you paid 1000yen too much?". As if she knew she had input an extra item, hoping customer would not notice and let it go? I also questioned the price that was different from the menu to which she respond by giving me an english menu, which had a different price than what was in the japanese menu.
She explained that locals and tourists would be charged differently. I would've been ok if she gave me an english menu with the price that they would be charging me with since the beginning, instead of giving me a japanese menu and then charging a tourist price at the end. It would also be acceptable if she would just explained beforehand. And it would be nice to receive the bill or at least asked if I wanted the bill, as what all stores in Japan do. Maybe its normal to have orders listed as "custom item" in your bill, but this, on top of not giving customer a menu with the correct pricing we will be charged of, misinputting an item, and not providing the bill to customer, is unacceptable. The extra amount I paid was returned in cash, but after this incident, I probably will not come back even though the food...
Read moreI went here on my last night in Osaka and I’m so sorry I didn’t discover it sooner. It is such a lovely place and as a foreigner I felt welcomed and comfortable.
The vibes are immaculate. Cozy, comfy and laid back. I didn’t feel rushed or pressured to order before I was ready.
The owner is a very cool woman who is extremely knowledgeable about cocktails. She can make them both regular or non-alcoholic (if that’s your preference).
I had the lasagna because I was craving comfort food and it was delicious. Less tomato sauce than what I’m used to but full of flavor in every bite. Keep in mind this is not an “Italian portion” but I had an appetizer along with it and was completely satisfied. And the prices are very competitive.
Do yourself a favor and get out of Namba, Umeda and Dotonburi for a while. This place is just a short train trip north - literally across from the Higashimikuni train station . It’s a perfect little oasis away from the madness...
