Ordered the miso ramen for 1000 yen. Quite crowded at 1.45pm on a Tuesday. Took my order outside and had a short wait for seats. The ramen broth has a strong ginger flavour which is quite unusual. It is rich and tasty. Noodles were chewy enough and bamboo shoots and leek added some texture. The cha shu was soft and mushy with not much taste or texture. Also added quite a bit of chilli powder to suit my preference. Overall ok but doubt I would return unless I happen to be in the area.

初めて来ました。 カウンターに座ったら、頭上に昭和の白黒写真にすみれのお店の写真と映画「ステーション」に、すみれと書いた出前持ちの高倉健の白黒写真を見て？ 札幌のすみれは、昭和のそんな古い時代に無かったはず。 札幌の純連の三男のすみれとは、全く関係が見つかりませんでした。 1964年頃小樽にすみれを開業のラーメン屋さんでした。 ちなみに札幌のすみれは1988年からです。 でも、店内の木製のみかんの看板には、右下にすみれ、札幌と書いてあるので、全く無関係とも言えないかな。 chatGPTで、幾つかの質問を繰り返した答えは、 高倉健が主演した映画『駅 STATION』 （1981年）に登場する「ラーメン屋のすみれ」についてですが、このラーメン店は実在するものではなく、映画のために設定された架空の店舗です。 『駅 STATION』の舞台は北海道の小樽であり、主人公（高倉健）が訪れるラーメン屋として「すみれ」が登場します。映画の中で描かれるこの「すみれ」は、物語の雰囲気や昭和の情緒を感じさせる設定として重要な役割を果たしていますが、実在の店舗とは異なります。 「みかん」は、かつて「すみれ」で修行をした店主が独立してオープンしたラーメン店です。小樽に店舗を構え、「すみれ」で学んだ味をベースにしつつも、独自のアレンジを加えたラーメンを提供しています。そのため、すみれとのつながりがある一方で、みかん独自の味やスタイルが確立されています。 と、出てきました。 白黒写真のすみれのお店は、chatGPTでも何も出てきませんでした。 さて、ラーメンですが、味噌ラーメンを注文 しっかり熱いラードで蓋をしている札幌ラーメンで、初めは熱いのでスープは口内の火傷に注意です。 食べ慣れた純連や札幌のすみれとは、味は違いますが、テーブルに来た時から旨みたっぷりな匂いが美味しさを物語っています。 味噌はほんのりで、とにかく旨味とコクが有ります。 生姜のクチコミがありますが、生姜の主張は余り感じません。 麺は透き通った麺で、純連やすみれとは全然違います。 麺の腰と言うより、少しもっちりした食感で美味しい麺でした。ただ残念なのが、最近時々出会う物凄く短い麺で、持ち上げたらスープから全部離れてしまいます。本来ラーメンとしてすすり上げて、口に程よく収まった時に麺を噛み切る事無く、全て口に収まり、麺を一噛み出来ない所は、本来のラーメンとしての食感が欠けてしまい残念です。 チャーシューは、柔らかいとろける系と、崩れた感じのが、沢山入っていて最後まで満足感を加えてくれます。 麺を食べきったところで、残っているスープが少なめだったので、最後まで行ってしまいます。 小樽に来た時には、また、食べに来たいお店です。 2度目は塩を食べました。 次の人が、お勧めを聞いて、塩も美味しいですよと、スープに酢を少し入れると美味しくなるとも言っていました。 暑い夏なら、サッパリ感で、良いかもと思いました。 塩ラーメンは、あっさりした優しい塩味に、しっかりコクの有る味で、酢を入れると、やはりサッパリ感が出て、これはこれで有りな味でした。

I ordered the salt ramen and my partner ordered the miso ramen (signature). The miso ramen was more complex in flavour but both were delicious. Noodles were al-dente (exactly how we like). Hokkaido ramen tend to be more oily, so you may end up being able to eat half the portion only
