Suehiro — Restaurant in Otsu

This is probably one of the best meals I’ve had in Japan. Was at the temples/cable car on the mountain near by and just happened to walk by this place. Without even looking at the reviews, went inside and ordered. It was no surprise to see it so highly rated. The broth for the beef udon was so flavourful. The noodles were melt in your mouth. The prices are very reasonable, bowl of beef udon was 700jpy.

Magic spot to stumble across after the cable car!

My friend and I were walking past and decided it was time for lunch. We didn't look at any reviews beforehand, but now after eating this spot deserves nothing less than a 5.

I had the Nabeyaki Udon which was fantastic, but my friends beef udon (google translates the menu to "meat”) was on another level.

We also tried the Chicken Curry, again, amazing.

A must visit if you're in the area seeing the temples. We originally tried to get soba around the corner but there was a massive queue so we came here instead. We are so happy because the nabeyaki Udon and ooyakodon were excellent. Some of the best we have had during our visit to Kyoto, and all for under $20AUD.
